Privacy Policy — Neodoku

Effective 23 August 2026  ·  previous versions effective 12 August 2026 and 30 July 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to Neodoku, an Android puzzle game published by Rogue_22 (the “Service Provider”) and distributed through Google Play, together with any related services (collectively, the “Application”).

Data Controller

The Data Controller responsible for processing your personal data is:

To exercise any of your rights, or for any data protection question, contact the Data Controller using the details above.

The short version

Neodoku has no accounts, no login, and no registration. It never asks you for your name, email address or any other personal detail, and your game progress is stored on your own device. The only personal data involved is what the Application's third-party analytics and advertising components collect automatically. Analytics is switched off entirely unless you opt in. The game is funded by advertising, so adverts are shown either way — but if you decline, they are non-personalised, your advertising ID is withheld, and no interest profile is built about you.

What information does the Application collect?

Information you provide

None is required. The Application has no registration and no profile. If you choose to email the Service Provider, your email address and the contents of your message are processed solely in order to answer you.

Information collected automatically

Where you have consented (see “Your choices” below), the Application's analytics and advertising components may collect:

What happens if you decline

Declining is honoured. The two components behave differently:

Even for a non-personalised advert, the advertising network necessarily receives a minimum of technical information in order to deliver it and to prevent fraud — typically your IP address, coarse device and operating-system details, and the fact that an advert was requested. This is the irreducible minimum for showing any advert at all; it is not used to build a profile of you.

If you would prefer to see no adverts between rounds, the paid Remove Ads in-app purchase removes the interstitial adverts. Optional “watch an advert for a reward” adverts remain available to everyone, because you choose to start those yourself.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. The Service Provider receives confirmation that a purchase completed, so that the corresponding item can be unlocked. The Service Provider never receives or stores your payment card details, billing address or any other payment information.

Location

The Application does not collect precise location data and does not request location permission. Approximate country-level location may be inferred from your IP address by the third-party services listed below.

Notifications

The Application can send you a single local reminder about your daily puzzle streak. It is scheduled on your own device by the Application itself; no notification service receives your data and no message is sent from a server. On Android 13 and later you are asked for notification permission before any reminder is scheduled, and you can revoke it at any time in your device settings. If you have consented to analytics, the fact that a reminder was opened is recorded as a gameplay event.

Error log stored on your device

The Application writes errors and crash details to a plain text file in its own private storage so that a problem can be diagnosed if you choose to report one. The Service Provider never receives this file. It is not uploaded to the Service Provider and is not transmitted anywhere by the Application. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before it does.

Like other files the Application stores privately on your device, this file may be included in Android’s own backup of your device to your personal Google account, if you have that feature switched on. That backup is made by Android, belongs to you, and is not accessible to the Service Provider. You can control it in your device’s backup settings.

Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, the Service Provider relies on the following lawful bases:

Your choices

When you first open the Application you are asked a single question covering both analytics and personalised advertising. Both are off until you opt in, and no answer stored means no consent. Declining does not restrict any part of the game — every level, mode and feature remains available.

You can change your answer at any time in the Application's Settings screen. Withdrawing consent stops further collection; it does not undo processing that already took place lawfully before you withdrew.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's operating system settings, and you can stop all collection by uninstalling the Application.

Third-party services

The Application uses the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:

These providers act as processors or, in the case of the advertising networks, as independent controllers for their own advertising purposes. Where the GDPR applies and a provider processes personal data on the Service Provider's behalf, a Data Processing Agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place.

The advertising mediation platform makes it possible to add further advertising networks later. If any additional network is enabled, this list will be updated to name it before it begins serving adverts in the Application. The list above reflects the networks in use as of the effective date at the top of this page.

Advertising and profiling

If you consent to personalised advertising, the advertising networks listed above may use your advertising ID and interaction data to build an interest profile and select advertisements on that basis. This is profiling within the meaning of the GDPR. It does not produce legal effects concerning you and does not similarly significantly affect you. You can decline personalised advertising, or withdraw consent later in Settings, and still use the whole game — you will simply see non-personalised advertisements instead.

The Application does not use artificial intelligence to process your data, and makes no automated decisions about you beyond the advertising selection described in this section.

Disclosure of information

The Service Provider may disclose information:

The Service Provider does not sell your personal data for money.

International data transfers

The third-party services above may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. Where such transfers occur, they are made under a transfer mechanism recognised by Chapter V of the GDPR — an adequacy decision of the European Commission, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another applicable safeguard or derogation. Countries outside the EEA may not offer the same level of protection as the EEA.

Data retention

Personal data is kept only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Your game progress is stored locally on your device and is not sent to the Service Provider. If you have Android’s device backup switched on, Android may copy the Application’s private files — including your progress — to your personal Google account, and restore them if you reinstall the Application. That backup is controlled by you in your device settings, belongs to your Google account, and is not accessible to the Service Provider. Uninstalling removes the Application’s files from the device itself; any backup Android has already made is removed according to your own Google account settings.

Children

Neodoku is a general-audience puzzle game. It is not directed at children, is not designed or marketed for them, and contains no content aimed at them — but it is not age-restricted, and children may play it.

The Application's target audience on the app store is declared as 16 and over, and it is not enrolled in Google Play's Families programme.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable age of digital consent, which is 16 in some countries and as low as 13 in others. Because analytics and personalised advertising require an affirmative opt-in that is off by default, no data in those categories is collected from any user — of any age — who has not consented.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data, please contact roguegames2222@gmail.com and it will be deleted.

Security

The Service Provider takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information it processes, including limiting access to those who need it. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Data breach notification

In the event of a personal data breach posing a risk to your rights and freedoms, the Service Provider will notify the competent supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by the GDPR. Where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to you, you will also be notified without undue delay, with information about its nature, the categories of data affected, and the measures taken.

Because the Application has no accounts and the Service Provider holds no contact details for you, individual notification is generally impossible. In that case, as Article 34(3)(c) GDPR permits, notice will be given by a public communication — published on this page and in the Application’s Google Play listing — which is intended to inform affected users equally effectively.

Your GDPR rights

Requests are answered within one month, extendable by up to two further months where a request is complex, as permitted by the GDPR.

If you believe your rights have been infringed you may lodge a complaint with your national Data Protection Authority. Contact details are listed at edpb.europa.eu. In the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office can be reached at ico.org.uk.

California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

The Service Provider does not sell personal information for money. Allowing personalised advertising may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA. To opt out, decline personalised advertising when first asked, or turn it off at any time in the Application's Settings screen. You may also email roguegames2222@gmail.com, and you may use an authorised agent.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be published here with a new effective date, and where the law requires it your consent will be sought before they take effect. Previous versions are available on request.
